Upcoming Season

Posted: December 29, 2012 by cfoam7 in News

Dear Sailors—two things 

1. Please let me know if you are planning on sailing with the SOA team in the Spring season so we can start planning for practices and the upcoming budget. Practices should be starting sometime in February, weather permitting, and continuing until the first part of May or perhaps mid May. Practices should remain Friday and Mondays if we have enough returning. If not, we’ll combine forces. Fees should be approximately the same, although I need to know who is returning before we divide expenses by number of sailors.

There are more regattas both out of town and in Charleston including some district level competitions. There are also fun sails such as “Race for the Future” on CORA’s big boats.

Please respond with a YES, NO, or maybe so I can figure out the budget and practices–

2. There is a regatta in Lake Mayer (Savannah area) on January 12th. We are more than willing to send a team to that regatta. I know a good many sailors are involved in Band region auditions that day and can’t attend but we’d love to send a team if we have at least 2-4 sailors interested in going. We’ll need a parent driver and chaperone as well. I can give more details if anyone is interested.

Thank you,
Lisa DeLoach

SOA Sailing
Day light saving has come and our practices will now end at 6:00 pm. Tomorrow should be a nice day for Monday sailing. A little cooler so dress for colder weather. Still no jeans. Monday sailors be ready to sail soon as you can as we will be in a hurry to get on the water to make the most use of our time.
